We are exclusively representing a boutique Architecture Firm that specializes in single family and luxury residential work in the NYC metro area. They are currently seeking their next great Job Captain to lead and contribute to existing and future residences.

The primary function of the Job Captain/ Architectural Designer is to support the project team in the completion of one or more multi-family/mixed-use projects in accordance with the established goals and scope of each project. This role collaborates with all team members in an effective and efficient manner, working under the direction of, and in collaboration with project team members.

• Assist PM’s through all phases of a project, from proposal to delivery

• Help to plan, draw, and design for project completion

• Prepare project documents for meetings, presentations, and submittals

• Incorporate redlines in a strategic and thorough manner

• Understand and follow company standards of project documentation

• Model and draw accurately based on scope and phase of project

• Produce renderings, illustrations, and construction documents to support design concepts

• Review project proposals and specs

• Assist in directing Junior Architects and Designers

• Help coordinate details of architectural projects

• Experience in residential design is preferred, high-rise experience a bonus

• Capable of overseeing own work with some oversight

• General understanding of codes and zoning

• Zoning experience a plus but not required

• General knowledge of building details and construction process

• Experience in core markets: High-End Residential, multifamily, mixed-use, new construction

• Experience with being a part of a collaborative, integrated team structure for all phases of work

• Complete assigned tasks by deadline

• Revit production capable, model manager a plus

• Working knowledge of multi-family housing and other building types

• Experience with the Concept and Schematic Design process for core project types

• Experience with the production of Design Communication packages for core project types

• Ability to detail exterior (facade) and interior (millwork)

• Ability to think in 3D and understand and solve complex design issues

• 3-6 years of experience working in architecture

• Bachelor's (Required), Master’s (preferred)

• Experience in High-end Residential & Retail projects (preferred)

• Demonstrated proficiency with Revit, CAD, SketchUp and Windows OS

• Authorization to work in the United States

Client is offering a very attractive benefits package, base salary in the $80-100k range, DOE with bonus potential. This position will work within office 5 days a week.
