ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER II Leads preparation of architectural presentations and production drawings, as well as participates in design studies and evaluation of design proposals under the direction of the Senior Designer or Project Architect. Requires minimum five years’ experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work with Senior Designer or Senior Design Manager on conceptual designs, presentations and production. 2. Oversee collection of project data and research; perform moderately complex to advanced code specific calculations. 3. Knowledge of design process and building codes. Assist with management of design process and oversight of junior designers. 4. Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, physical models and presentation drawings as project requires. 5. Resolve design issues with creative and practical solutions; prepare complete designs from general drawings and instructions. 6. Ability to independently coordinate consultants, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives. Report progress to Senior Designer / Senior Design Manager. 7. Perform architectural drafting as directed by Senior Designer or Project Architect in accordance with company standards. 8. Contribute to office activities, initiatives and programs.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS: 1. 5-8 years of experience on architecture projects 2. Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as part of a project team. 3. Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, including Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Sketchup, Photoshop, Rhino, and InDesign. 4. Solid understanding of materials and construction techniques. 5. Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple or fast paced projects. 6. Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas. 7. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. 8. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
